Portlander Pants

Have you heard of the Portlander Pants before? These are my new favourite pants, I can’t stop wearing them! They’ve got a yoga waistband, which is great for my mum tum, even better for my postpartum tummy as nothing is digging into my skin. The fit is fantastic with a gorgeous flare at the ankles and I feel like I’m wearing my comfy pyjamas out in public while still looking stylish. They’ve also proven to me to be flexible while I’m down on the ground with the kids or running around after them. And the best part is how quick and easy they were to make, I think I had them finished within an hour.

Can you tell I’m just a little bit in love with them? I’ve already got a pair of shorts made up from the same pattern and more fabric waiting to be a second pair of pants once my machine is fixed! These pants come with a pocket option but I’m hoping to hack the pockets up a bit.

The fabric I’ve used is an organic cotton jersey from Spotlight but these would work in a range of knit fabrics. The waist band is a cotton/lycra blend

You can get the Portlander Pants pattern from New Horizons Designs
